“When we got him, his jaw had been broken. Someone kicked him in the face or something.” 

“It’s my wife’s dog, but she’s away for month, so I have him glued onto me.”

“She’s in England for a month.  My son lives there.  She’s there to help with caring for his wife, who had a seizure, and she can’t drive for a year.   She has two children in school.  With this last seizure, she fell, and she broke her nose and her front teeth, so my wife’s there helping her.”
